The Hushed House is envisioned as retreat space for revitalization. This project is designed with a very minimal aesthetic so as not to detract from the natural surroundings. Clean lines and sparse, flexible spaces create a soothing environment for activities ranging from art to yoga. Large glass expanses and extending decks serve to connect interior to exterior. Passive cooling is integrated with low intake and high exhaust awning windows. It is in deep solitude that we find the gentleness with which we can truly love. The more solitary we are the more affection we have for our lives… Solitude and silence teach us to love our life for what it truly is, not for what our rumors cannot affirm, which is love itself.
