Granary Townhomes

On one of the last remaining unbuilt lots in Boulder, Studio H:T has designed a modular multi-family residential project. Challenging zoning, limited linkages to public streets, and the presence of an historic granary all provide constraints that only leave room for a creative solution to the design brief. Research, in the truest sense (to search again) is at the core of the approach to the project. How to link the project inherently to its site? How to make a positive contribution to the neighborhood without compromising the units themselves? How to respond to open space on the north while primary views lie to the west and southwest? The project will incorporate photovoltaics, green roofs, and modular construction and is currently on target to reach LEED silver certification.
